Our firm is proud to advocate for individuals whose lives have been disrupted by serious injuries, often in complex and challenging circumstances. This past year, we achieved meaningful results for clients through investigation, strategic litigation, and a commitment to telling their stories effectively. The following cases highlight how careful legal work, strong evidence, and persistent advocacy can overcome initial obstacles and lead to life-changing outcomes.

Uninsured Motorist Coverage Secured

A recent immigrant was injured while cycling when struck by an uninsured turning vehicle. The driver’s automobile insurance policy had recently lapsed.  Our investigation revealed that the insurer had improperly cancelled the policy. Coverage was reinstated following a hearing, allowing the claim to proceed. With strong medical and expert evidence, the case resolved at mediation for $950,000 for physical and psychological injuries, enabling the client to pursue education and a more sustainable career.

Liability Proven Through Video Evidence

A tradesperson and competitive cyclist suffered head and shoulder injuries after a city bus passed too closely, forcing them into a curb. Despite no eyewitnesses, video footage obtained through public records confirmed the unsafe maneuver, leading the driver to accept liability. The claim resolved at mediation for $975,000, allowing the client to overcome ongoing limitations and return to cycling with an improved quality of life.

Slip and Fall Claim Successfully Resolved

We represented a parent injured in a slip and fall on icy daycare steps. Evidence showed the property owner lacked an adequate snow and ice removal system. The injuries delayed the client’s return to a healthcare career, causing significant losses. The matter resolved shortly before trial for a settlement of more than $600,000.

Traffic Court Victory Leads to Major Recovery

A senior executive who was also an avid cyclist and artist was seriously injured when struck by a motor vehicle, with the driver disputing liability in traffic court. After the cyclist’s testimony, the court upheld the driver’s conviction, clearing the way for the injury claim. Following complex negotiations, the case resolved for $1.8 million, supporting the client’s transition into a fulfilling career in the arts.
